The Spinnaker Group provided LEED Consulting and Building Commissioning for this 143,717 sf newconstruction passenger cruise terminal for Broward County. The project, with multipurpose spaces, is ADA Compliant and is pursuing LEED certification, targeting Fall 2019. The project consisted of the demolition, renovation and expansion of Cruise Terminals 22/24 and 25 in order to turn them into one large terminal known as Cruise Passenger Terminal 25. The Terminal 25 facility is comprised of a new and improved U.S. Customs and Border Protection area, ground transportation layout, baggage-collection areas, baggage-processing area, new check-in counters, new seating, easier passenger movement within the terminal, and new passenger loading bridges.

virtual-reality "cave" that enables designers to create full-scale mock-ups for evaluating design solutions for Royal Caribbean, offices, conference rooms, and collaborative workspaces to brainstorm innovative ideas for advancements to its cruise ships. Sustainable design features include LED lighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and carbon dioxide sensors.

Spinnaker Services: Preliminary Feasibility Study

As a part of Virgin Voyages’ sustainability efforts, the forthcoming new Virgin Voyages PortMiami Terminal is targeting LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council. The Spinnaker Group performed a preliminary feasibility study of the conceptual design package to ensure compliance with the project team’s goal of LEED certification. Spinnaker's involvement early in the design process allowed the team to consider strategies including solar photovoltaics and rainwater harvesting to ensure that future bidders of the project would consider sustainability goals through the remainder of the design and construction process. The striking terminal will be located on the northwest side of the port, and is slated for completion by November 2021. The new 100,000 sf terminal will be a palm grove inspired design concept developed by the Miami-based designers from Arquitectonica.
